This document presents a solution that evaluates the capacity of an organization to respond to vulnerability findings and leverages the advantages of DevSecOps to design and create a system to handle them properly. That solution is called a Vulnerability Management System (VMS). This document is divided into five main parts: Part I describes the objective of this document, the problem that the solution it presents is trying to solve, and provides some theoretical concepts that the reader needs to know before starting. Part II describes a maturity model to assess the current status of vulnerability management in an organization. Part III describes the scope, objectives, components, and inner workings of the VMS. Part IV consists of a technical guide in which the organization can find guidelines on implementing the VMS based on their vulnerability management maturity and organization limitations. Part V presents an example implementation of the VMS in a simulated development environment.

Undoubtedly, the adoption of the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm has impacted on our every-day life, surrounding us with smart objects. Thus, the potentialities of this new market attracted the industry, so that many enterprises developed their own IoT platforms aiming at helping IoT services’ developers. In the multitude of possible platforms, selecting the most suitable to implement a specific service is not straightforward, especially from a security perspective. This paper analyzes some of the most prominent proposals in the IoT platforms market-place, performing an in-depth security comparison using five common criteria. These criteria are detailed in sub-criteria, so that they can be used as a baseline for the development of a secure IoT service. Leveraging the knowledge gathered from our in-depth study, both researchers and developers may select the IoT platform which best fits their needs. Additionally, an IoT service for monitoring commercial flights is implemented in two previously analyzed IoT platforms, giving an adequate detail level to represent a solid guideline for future IoT developers.

Este libro presenta el desarrollo del proyecto de grado “Development of a systembased on Artificial Intelligence able to interact withsuspects of cybercrimes”. El librocontiene el desarrollo de la teoría investigada y la implementación realizada durantela asignatura Proyecto de Grado. Se compone de la investigación, implementación ymejora del chatbot C3-Sex, enfocandose en los dos modelos utilizados para interactuarcon el sospechos (modelo basado en reglas y modelos retrieval), en la introducción deSnapchat como nueva plataforma para interactuar con el sospechos y en la mejora alclasificar el perfil del sospechoso. Estas mejoras permiten que la interacción con el sos-pechoso sea mucho mas eficaz permitiendo que el intercambio de contenido se de conmuchas más frecuencia y a su vez que los datos recolectados de cada conversación seananalizados de mejor manera

El proyecto Diseño de Ambiente CTF para Entrenamiento en Ciberseguridad busca diseñar un ambiente de aprendizaje de ciberseguridad centrado en competencias tipo CTF (Capture the Flag), mediante la identificación, desarrollo e implementación de un conjunto de herramientas, recursos tecnológicos y material de apoyo que permitan contar con un espacio que propicie el estudio y la investigación en el área. En el proyecto se implementó una plataforma para la puntuación y organización de eventos CTF, y se compiló una serie de retos tipo CTF para el aprendizaje de distintas categorias y temáticas alrededor de seguridad informática y computación.

Due to the growth of IoT (Internet of Tings) devices in diferent industries and markets in recent years and considering the currently insufcient protection for these devices, a security solution safeguarding IoT architectures are highly desirable. An interesting perspective for the development of security solutions is the use of an event management approach, knowing that an event may become an incident when an information asset is afected under certain circumstances. Te paper at hand proposes a security solution based on the management of security events within IoT scenarios in order to accurately identify suspicious activities. To this end, diferent vulnerabilities found in IoT devices are described, as well as unique features that make these devices an appealing target for attacks. Finally, three IoT attack scenarios are presented, describing exploited vulnerabilities, security events generated by the attack, and accurate responses that could be launched to help decreasing the impact of the attack on IoT devices. Our analysis demonstrates that the proposed approach is suitable for protecting the IoT ecosystem, giving an adequate protection level to the IoT devices.
