Abstract (Spanish)
Se presenta en forma somera el origen de la matematización económica y el campo de la Economía Matemática. Un enfoque histórico inicial divide dicho campo en un primer periodo marginalista, uno de utilización de teoría de los conjuntos y modelos lineales, y un periodo que integra los dos anteriores. Luego se analiza la evolución de la Teoría del Equilibrio General desde Quesnay, pasando por Walras y desarrollos posteriores, hasta su culminación con los trabajos de Arrow, Debreu y sus contemporáneos. Finalmente se describe, la influencia de las matemáticas en especial de la optimización dinámica en la teoría macroeconómica y a otras áreas de la economía.
Abstract (English)
This document briefly presents the origin of application of mathematics to economics and of the mathematical economics. It begins with a historical approach that presents the marginalist period, later a set theory period and lineal models and finally, a period that combines the two precedents. Later, it analyze the evolution of General Equilibrium Theory from Quesnay, Walras and others developments, until the contributions of Arrow Debreu and theirs contemporaries. Finally, it ends describing the influence from mathematics, specially dynamic optimization, on macroeconomic theory an the applications of theory of games on the institutional economics.
