En este libro se compendian los conceptos esenciales de la química y la microbiología del agua, necesarios para el análisis y la caracterización de aguas y aguas residuales, así como para entender las aplicaciones convencionales de las operaciones y procesos de tratamiento requeridos en la potabilización del agua. La presentación didáctica, con ejemplos y problemas resueltos y por resolver, es un aporte efectivo a la formación e instrucción exigidas en los cursos de ingeniería de tratamiento de aguas y constituye, con toda seguridad, una ayuda valiosa para adquirir o refrescar conocimientos indispensables en los cursos de ingeniería ambiental.
