Durante la última década, muchas organizaciones han implementado uno o más Oficinas de Gestión de Proyectos (PMO) como parte de la gestión de los proyectos, atribuyéndole una variedad de funciones tanto operacionales como estratégicas (Monique, Ralf, Brian, & Tomas, 2010). Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, se considera que, para las organizaciones que implementan una PMO es importante conocer los aportes que esta puede generar en el ámbito interno, al conseguir la optimización y unificación de los procesos, así como el uso óptimo de los recursos y el aumento de la productividad. El objetivo principal de esta investigación es analizar la literatura de la gestión de los proyectos y Project Management Office (PMO), estableciendo los factores críticos de éxito que una PMO ofrece a las organizaciones de acuerdo con su contexto. Además, de recopilar los diferentes aportes que han generado varios autores sobre la aplicabilidad de una PMO a las organizaciones, y que permiten desarrollar una madurez en el ciclo de vida de los proyectos, dadas las diferentes dimensiones contextuales y estructurales que estas tienen. La metodología utilizada en esta investigación es sistemática con la búsqueda de la temática propuesta, en revistas e informes relacionados en bases de datos de referenciación bibliográfica, la construcción de una base de datos como herramienta de recopilación de información y con el análisis realizado por los autores se hace la revisión de los artículos y se establece la información más relevante.
Abstract (English)
During the last decade, many organizations have implemented one or more Project Management Offices (PMOs) as part of project management, attributing a variety of operational and strategic functions (Monique, Ralf, Brian, & Tomas, 2010) . Taking into account the above, it is considered that, for organizations that implement a PMO it is important to know the contributions that this can generate in the internal scope, by achieving the optimization and unification of the processes, as well as the optimal use of resources and the increase in productivity. The main objective of this research is to analyze the literature on project management and Project Management Office (PMO), establishing the critical success factors that a PMO offers to organizations according to their context. In addition, to collect the different contributions that have generated several authors on the applicability of a PMO to organizations, and that allow develop a maturity in the life cycle of projects, given the different contextual and structural dimensions they have. The methodology used in this research is systematic with the search of the proposed topic, in journals and related reports in bibliographic reference databases, the construction of a database as a tool for gathering information and with the analysis made by the authors the review of the articles is made and the most relevant information is established.
