E-Health and M-Health, as a concept, represent a great opportunity to overcome the great limitations of coverage, equity, and quality of health services in countries like Colombia. This article intends, through a background review of these technologies in the country and legal and technical restrictions for its implementation, to be a basic reference for the formulation of future projects in research groups that want to venture into this subject. It also proposes a series of conclusions regarding concrete possibilities of action under the current Colombian legislation and gives specific recommendations -from the technical point of view- to be considered within the research activities of future projects in the area.spa
