Abstract

Cuando se realiza el análisis de protección, contra incendios en edificaciones, existe la tendencia de acuerdo con los actuales códigos, de adoptar el enfoque prestacional o por desempeño, porque se tiene la creencia, de que los métodos prescriptivos, son insuficientes y generan costos excesivos en la construcción.

Es importante entender que, sea por un método u otro, el ingeniero diseñador debe aplicar los códigos existentes, demostrando que, mediante la solución propuesta se alcanzan o superan los niveles de protección establecidos. La única manera, de realizar un análisis, de resistencia contra incendios óptimo, es mostrando siempre en diferentes escenarios de incendio, como el uso, la altura, la ventilación, los sistemas de detección, de protección pasiva, entre otros, influyen en la estructura.

En este proyecto, se elaboró un “Manual Educativo”, con distintos ejemplos de estructuras y diferentes análisis simplificados (siendo un método alternativo del método prescriptivo, a las tablas de tiempos mínimos de resistencia, exigidos a la estructura de un edificio), con el fin de extraer las conclusiones, bondades y limitaciones de su aplicabilidad.

In this project, an "Educational Manual" was prepared, with different examples of structures and different simplified analyzes (being an alternative method of the prescriptive method, to the tables of minimum resistance times, required to the structure of a building), with the In order to extract the conclusions, benefits and limitations of its applicability.
