Optimización del uso y el funcionamiento de ventiladores mecánicos no invasivos en un hospital

Parte de la asistencia sanitaria que se presta en un entorno hospitalario está relacionada con
enfermedades asociadas a la insuficiencia respiratoria. Dentro de estas intervenciones algunas
necesitan ventilación mecánica. Su objetivo, consiste en sustituir parcial o totalmente el trabajo
respiratorio, por un sistema de ventilación mecánica, manteniendo el intercambio gaseoso (O2 y CO2)
necesarios en el proceso de la respiración. Para ello, se tienen dos tipos de soporte ventilatorio:
invasivo y no invasivo. La ventilación mecánica no invasiva (VMNI) evita realizar intubación
endotraqueal, sedación profunda y da al paciente mayor comodidad con la interfase de uso.
En este proyecto, se ha analizado el funcionamiento de 11 ventiladores mecánicos para áreas
hospitalarias como UCI, neumología, semicríticos y urgencias. Considerando los criterios relacionados
con las características tecnológicas, se ha desarrollado un sistema de ponderación para valorar la
idoneidad de un equipo según el área hospitalaria de uso. Además, se ha propuesto un sistema de
optimización para la redistribución de estos equipos, según las necesidades de su utilización. Para ello,
se ha propuesto un sistema de clasificación mediante arboles de decisión, para definir la mejor
