Elaboración de una herramienta para contribuir al desarrollo de la inteligencia emocional en gerentes de proyectos

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad la creación de una herramienta que contribuya al desarrollo de la inteligencia emocional en gerentes de proyectos. La necesidad nace por estudios realizados por Mount y Spencer en los cuales se evidencia la relevancia de las habilidades emocionales del gerente y su impacto en el éxito del proyecto. Además, Anthony Mersino menciona que las guías reconocidas como el PMBOK ® versión 7, si bien aborda la importancia de la dirección del equipo del proyecto y mencionan la inteligencia emocional como una herramienta clave, no orienta hacia el desarrollo o profundización de esta. Teniendo en cuenta los estudios mencionados, toma relevancia el desarrollo de una herramienta que le permita al gerente de proyectos evaluar el estado de su inteligencia emocional y además contar con acciones de mejora que le permitan desarrollarla.

The purpose of this work is to create a tool that contributes to the development of emotional intelligence in project managers. The need arises from studies carried out by Mount and Spencer in which the relevance of the manager's emotional skills and their impact on project success. Also, Anthony Mersino mentions that the recognized guides such as the PMBOK ® version 7, although it addresses the importance of project team management and mention emotional intelligence as a key tool, it does not guide towards the development or deepening of it. Having Taking into account the aforementioned studies, the development of a tool that allows the project manager to assess the state of his emotional intelligence and also count with improvement actions that allow you to develop it. The development of this work has been structured in 7 chapters. The first of them describes the justification of the problem, exposes the absence of tools for the development of the Emotional intelligence and its impact on project management. the second chapter corresponds to the theoretical framework in which it refers to the quotes found in the various sources consulted with the components of emotional intelligence, emotional skills and tools for the development of emotional intelligence. The third chapter contains methodology of carrying out the work, its phases and the objectives fulfilled in each one. The fourth chapter presents the obtained and definitive results of the necessary inputs for the making of the tool. The fifth chapter exposes the stages carried out for the development of the tool and its validation by experts. The sixth chapter covers the conclusions of the work and finally, the seventh chapter integrates the future work that arises from the development of the tool.
