In July 2021, Law 2099 on the Energy Transition in Colombia was enacted, seeking to consolidate the country as a world benchmark for sustainability in the incorporation of Non-Conventional Sources of Renewable Energy (FNCER) to its generation matrix. In addition, in Bogota D.C. and Cundinamarca, there has been a housing deficit, as stated by the manager of the Colombian Chamber of Construction (CAMACOL) (Semana Magazine, March 2022). In other words, it means that the supply of housing is insufficient to cover the demand. With this work, we seek to verify the pre-feasibility in the application of Electric Self-Generation (AE) in Social Interest Housing (VIS) projects in the Sabana de Bogotá Metropolitan Area (AMSB) taking into account the impact on sustainability, the market, current legislation, efficiency, energy diversification, the environment, the cost/benefit for the builder. For the pre-feasibility study, the collection of information related to the benefits and costs involved in the implementation of the EA is carried out, contrasting the positive and negative impacts that these projects imply for investors. Until now, the implementation of sustainable initiatives has not been accepted in VIS housing projects, due to lack of experience in execution, incentives, economic capacity or ignorance of the applicable benefits for the development of these. Therefore, it will be investigated with current evaluation tools whether the incorporation of EA in VIS projects can be attractive to investors in the residential construction sector. In this way, it contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Affordable and clean energy, decent work and economic growth, industry, innovation and infrastructure, sustainable communities and cities and climate action.
