| spa |
dc.description.abstract | The dismantling of the key processes of the supply chain in the process of demand planning, and specifically in the definition of the plan and the sales budget and the taking of administrative decisions based on forecasts of demand through the use of causal methods (linear regression) and qualitative methods (of judgment), executed manually and the decisions taken based on them, have repercussions among others in a production which is not adjusted to the real needs of the clients, to the low optimization of inventories, loss of sales opportunities due to not maintaining an adequate stock of inventory and, in general, poor purchasing scheduling. The objective was to define the most appropriate model for forecasting demand based on predictive analytical techniques, in the definition of the plan and the sales budget for the organization under study. The methodology that will be adopted for the definition of the model and the application of the results to the business environment will be CRISP-DM (Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining), which describes in a standardized way the life cycle of a standard project. analysis of data. According to the methodology, the life cycle of the project consists of six phases which are: the understanding of the business, the study and understanding of the data, the preparation of the data, the modeling (definition and calibration of models), the evaluation of the models and finally the deployment of the model in order to integrate the model with better performance to the business environment, specifically in the process of defining the plan and the sales budget. After the analysis of the current situation in the definition of the problem, the approach of the solution is made based on the objectives and priorities defined by the business. It is defined as Phase I of the project, the automation of the generation of sales forecasts for the definition of the budget and consolidation of the sales plan, as part of the process of general planning of the demand in the organization, the scope is defined at a high level of the later phases of the project and, finally, the definition and implementation of the strategy for the adoption of the model, through the development of an information system which allows to a large extent the process automation defined. | eng |
