Understanding public passenger transport as a service that is carried out in stages, reached by a main trip in a vehicle and complementary trips corresponding to the distances to travel to access public transport from the origin or vice versa, makes it possible to show that the public transport of the The city of Bogotá does not provide the scope and coverage required for complementary stages of the trips, to which informality in transport is given as a response. Given this, an investigation is proposed to evaluate the existence and behavior of the intermodal articulation of formal and informal public transport systems that occurs from the lack of coverage of the formal transport system. The investigation is carried out from the evaluation of a case study corresponding to the area of influence of the El Toberín station, where the area in question of transport is characterized, the coverage is evaluated, the existence of informal modes of transport and their interaction with the formal transport system, as well as the perception of users regarding the informal service presented. As a result, the modal articulation between formal and informal modes of transport is evident, emerging due to the lack of coverage of the city transport and the needs of user mobilization, taking into account that a service is presented that is complementary to formal transport and not It is a competition, which is focused on the transport of users in the last and first mile stages. Although a complementary service to formal transport is presented as a transport feeder, which is useful, necessary and widely accepted by users, the service of informal modes of transport presents shortcomings that need to be regulated and addressed in order to present a transport service for passengers.
