The present research work focuses on studying the mechanical behavior of channel shear connectors in a composite floor system that uses steeldeck and truss joists, through numerical simulation using the finite element method of the Push-Out direct shear test.
To carry out the simulation, the ANSYS structural analysis program was used. A total of 28 specimens from the experimental phase, along with calibration specimens, were simulated. The variables used were the geometry of the channel shear connector and the thickness of the concrete slab. As for the constitutive model used for the materials, the Multilinear Isotropic Hardening model was employed, which accurately represents the non-linear behavior and deformation capacity of the materials. This model also takes into account the cracking behavior of the concrete.
To validate the numerical models, the obtained results were compared with the experimental results. Additionally, a statistical treatment was applied to the data, which allowed obtaining a confidence interval for the mechanical response of the system.
