In theory, Knowledge Management KM and Business Process Management BPM have several benefits in common, such as the improvement in the performance of the processes, the increase in the productivity of the collaborators, the standardization of processes and the ease of access to data and / or information. However, in practice, their implementation in organizations is carried out independently, which is considered a technical error since it breaks up one of the axes of the two disciplines that are processes, meaning that the opportunity to maximize and take advantage of these benefits is missed. On the other hand, the main objective of companies is to generate a competitive advantage or develop some differential factor, which can be achieved by converting data into information and information into knowledge. In general, companies have not yet taken advantage of these resources since they do not manage the information life cycle and its value is not analyzed. Consequently, this research project seeks to design a model based on the BPM life cycle, called B-KIP (Business Knowledge Information and Processes), which integrates knowledge management, information management and Business Process Management BPM and takes into account considerations such as the effect of information and knowledge on the processes, the categorization of the processes according to their complexity and finally the appropriate metrics that allow the evaluation of processes’ performance, in order to positively impact organizations, specifically in the flower sector of our country, where the case study will be developed.
