Abstract (Spanish)
La relación de la industria con la economía no se ha esclarecido. Hirschman proclamó durante años que la industria disponía de vínculos hacia adelante y hacia atrás, pero esto nunca se formalizó ni se concretó en términos económicos. Baumol ha sostenido que la industria tiene mayor capacidad de crecimiento e innovación que el resto de sectores, pero su incidencia sobre el resto de la economía se mantiene en debate. No siempre se advierte que el aumento de la productividad de la industria origina alzas de costos salariales y precios que afectan a todos los sectores. Así, el incremento de la productividad industrial tiene un efecto menor sobre la producción propia y se traslada a todos los sectores de la economía.
Abstract (English)
The industry's relationship with the economy has not been clarified. Hirschman proclaimed for years that the industry had forward and backward linkages ago, but this was never formalized or materialized In economic terms. Baumol has argued that the industry has greater capacity for growth and innovation than the rest of the sectors, but its incidence about the rest of the economy remains up for debate. No it is always noted that the increase in productivity of the industry causes rises in wage costs and prices that affect all sectors. So, the increase of industrial productivity has a smaller effect on own production and is transferred to all sectors of the economy.
