| spa |
dc.description.abstract | The use of solar resources and the scarcity of potable water resources are two issues of concern.
engineering that are related, because they are of great importance in today's world in which
which is possible to take advantage of the solar resource through solar panels, a technology that has been
developed widely, in such a way that now there are even large solar parks
that supply energy to small towns. Regarding the scarcity of drinking water, it is
the great challenge that all governments in the world face for the world population by providing
the possibility of improving the quality of life of the inhabitants.
The general objective of this project was the development of a tool that allows the calculation
electricity from a solar station for a water purification plant, evaluating the site
installation, the loads to be installed (electro-circulator motors, dosing machines, equipment
disinfection n salt, etc.), the estimated panels, batteries and inverters. Through the
development of the project the technical bases of the water treatment plants are named
and photovoltaic stations, describing the methodology required for the design
of the solar station, taking measurements of energy consumption on the land of two plants of
existing water treatment installed in Bogotá and energized with the urban electrical network,
carrying out the corresponding data processing, which consists of purifying, organizing,
make the corresponding whisker graphs and finally analyze the behavior
of the data obtained for each measurement point. After this, we proceed to apply the
methodology for the design of solar stations for water purification plants
installed in non-interconnected areas.
According to the calculations and simulations carried out, it is evident that the main factors
that alter the design of solar stations for water purification plants are:
the geographical location, the type of water to be treated, the area required for installation
and the equipment to be installed at the plant and station. Due to the number of engines
that will be installed, it is suggested to improve the power factor by bringing this value closer to unity, through the calculation of a bank of capacitors or an exogenous control, which allows a
better functioning of the inverters and the use of the installation. | eng |
