ENG: There is a representative vulnerability to vehicular impacts, the present study presents a first approach to the local and general effects produced by the impact of two types of vehicles (classified as light and heavy) at three different speeds (40 km/h, 60 km/h and 80 km/h) on a bridge supported by three types of piers (wall, three column gantry and two column gantry), defined according to the current constructions in Colombia, based on computational models in the finite element software ANSYS. According to the number of variable parameters involved in the study, a total of 18 models were built.
The perspective to be addressed is to determine the resilience of the bridge support system once it has been impacted by the vehicle and, from the results obtained, to calculate the reduction in this property from the stiffness of the pier. In this way, it is possible to analyze which of the systems studied is the optimal one to support or remain standing under this type of loads.
