Determinación de la carga contaminante de las industrias del curtido en el área de Villa Pinzón

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo la identificación y evaluación de la carga pulidora de las industrias del curtido en el área de Villapinzón. Las actividades desarrolladas en cumplimiento del objetivo propuesto fueron en su mayoría de tipo investigativo y con la ayuda obtenida de los análisis de laboratorio. Para determinar las características de producción del sector se realizaron visitas técnicas a las industrias y se ejecutó un censo de las curtiembres. El estudio de caracterización se realizó para tres industrias típicas del sector, para el efecto, se dispuso de dos equipos automáticos de aforo y toma de muestras. Los resultados obtenidos en la caracterización permitieron determinar las cargas unitarias de contaminación en las industrias tipo investigadas. El efecto de las descargas industriales sobre el río Bogotá se evaluó mediante el modelo matemático CODOS desarrollado por HASKONING B.V., Ingenieros consultores Holandeses, para la Corporación Autónoma Regional de la Sabana de Bogotá y de los Valles de Ubaté y Chiquinquirá - C.A.R. El trabajo se complementa con la presentación de algunas medidas preventivas de aplicación en curtiembres artesanales que permiten reducir el poder contaminante de los efluentes industriales. También se bosquejan algunos sistemas de tratamiento de efluentes para curtiembres pequeñas y medias.

The objective of this work is the identification and evaluation of the polishing load of the tanning industries in the Villapinzón area. The activities developed in compliance with the proposed objective were mostly investigative and with the help of laboratory analysis. To determine the production characteristics of the sector, technical visits were made to the industries and a census of the tanneries was carried out. The characterization study was carried out for three typical industries in the sector; for this purpose, two automatic gauging and sampling equipment were used. The results obtained in the characterization made it possible to determine the unit loads of contamination in the typical industries investigated. The effect of industrial discharges on the Bogotá river was evaluated using the CODOS mathematical model developed by HASKONING B.V., Dutch consulting engineers, for the Corporación Autónoma Regional de la Sabana de Bogotá y de los Valles de Ubaté y Chiquinquirá - C.A.R. (Regional Autonomous Corporation of the Bogotá Savannah and the Ubaté and Chiquinquirá Valleys). The work is complemented with the presentation of some preventive measures to be applied in artisanal tanneries to reduce the polluting power of industrial effluents. Some effluent treatment systems for small and medium tanneries are also outlined.
