Innovation and technology in healthcare: perspectives from a think tank

Abstract

This internship report details the activities and projects I participated in at the Innovation Think Tank for Mechatronic Products (ITT MP) of Siemens Healthineers in Kemnath, Germany, from May to November 2023. The document evaluates the competencies acquired and the contribution of the ITT to the medical industry. The structure of the report includes an introduction to the company, the general and specific objectives of the report, the methodology implemented, the results obtained, and a discussion of the achievements and learnings during the internship. The experience at Siemens Healthineers allowed me to participate in innovative projects, improve my project management skills, and collaborate in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment, enriching my education in biomedical engineering.

Este informe de prácticas detalla las actividades y proyectos en los que participé en el Innovation Think Tank para Productos Mecatrónicos (ITT MP) de Siemens Healthineers en Kemnath, Alemania, desde mayo hasta noviembre de 2023. El documento evalúa las competencias adquiridas y la contribución del ITT a la industria médica. La estructura del informe incluye una introducción a la empresa, los objetivos generales y específicos del informe, la metodología implementada, los resultados obtenidos y una discusión sobre los logros y aprendizajes durante la pasantía. La experiencia en Siemens Healthineers me permitió participar en proyectos innovadores, mejorar mis habilidades de gestión de proyectos y colaborar en un entorno multicultural y multidisciplinario, enriqueciendo mi formación en ingeniería biomédica.
