In this document, the seismic soil-structure interaction zoning was conducted in the Eastern Expansion Zone of Ibagué, delimited by Fifth Avenue and Mirolindo Avenue, as well as 60th and 145th streets, in accordance with the Territorial Planning Plan of the City of Ibagué, Tolima, approved by Decree No. 0823 of 2014 from the Municipal Planning Secretariat of Ibagué. Geotechnical characterization was performed, determining mechanical and dynamic properties of the soil, including unit weights, stratum thicknesses, plasticity indexes, size distributions, shear wave velocity (Vs), soil vibration period (Ts), dynamic degradation curves of the shear modulus (G/Gmax), and damping variation (β%).
Simultaneously, structural characterization was carried out, obtaining properties such as the number of levels, number of basements, seismic resistance structural system, approximate fundamental vibration period (Ta), type of foundation, and use of predominant buildings in the analysis area. With this information, maps of vibration periods of deposits and structural and Geotechnical characterization were established. Seismic threat disaggregation for the city of Ibagué was documented, and seismic events representing it were selected. This allowed for the general identification of sites within the analysis area that may be susceptible to amplifications and/or seismic resonance phenomena. This was verified through linear equivalent seismic response analysis, using Deepsoil V7 software.
Finally, seismic soil-structure interaction was determined by modeling analysis sites covering a 300 m length in a two-dimensional space, using Plaxis 2D V20 finite element software, implementing the Hardening Soil model with small deformations. In orden to know the maximum spectral accelerations, seismic amplifications and horizontal displacements from the rock to the maximum height of each analysis building. It allowed the projection of zoning by seismic soil-structure interaction of the eastern expansion zone of Ibagué.
