| spa |
dc.description.abstract | In this paper, we will identify women’s profiles in project management in Colombia. First, an introduction about the research is made; highlighting how important project management is for organizations and the influence of gender on the performance of this job. Two types of interviews and one questionnaire were applied to women project managers and their direct supervisors. Characteristics of women project managers are identified and differences with their male peers are discussed. A revealing conclusion was that there are not any significant differences with men, regarding their capacity or competence to perform in a project manager role, and that gender barriers have become less important for women in the workforce. However, the biggest challenge women still have is to find a balance in their time management, due to the multiple tasks they must perform associated with roles that society still assigns to them. | eng |
