A structural fire is one of the most critical accidental situations that a civil work can experience, causing human and material losses, threatening the integrity and stability of the structure due to the high temperatures that can occur in each time, significantly affecting the mechanical properties of the structural elements. Given this, the present work investigates the effects of fire on structures with the predominant structural materials in the country, given the destructive power of fire, the Colombian regulation NSR-10 (seismic resistant standard) adopts different fire protection systems from various European standards, The Colombian regulation NSR-10 (seismic resistant standard) adopts different fire protection systems from different European standards, such as the Eurocode due to its focus on structural performance and the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) whose orientation is based on the design, assembly and supply of engineering systems and fire safety, given this research can generate approaches for comparison between different materials and regulations so that related construction professionals know the risks and how to control and / or mitigate them.
