The following article consists of analyzing some methodologies in order to determine the one that allows reducing the mismatch generated between the future flows of financial assets and actuarial liabilities, thereby optimizing the calculation of the technical reserve due to insufficient assets. The methodologies analyzed are the result of studies that began in Macauly (1938) and that currently focus on guaranteeing a yield that is immune to shifts and changes that interest rate curves may present. The methodologies analyzed are those established by the Financial Superintendence of Colombia, Markowitz by return, Markowitz by volatility, Sharpe Ratio, immunization by duration and immunization by modified duration. To analyze the entire context, it was necessary to establish initial conditions once the reality of the Colombian market was analyzed, as well as the available information. On the other hand, it was important to determine an investment percentage, which was established for debt securities TES, UVR and ordinary bonds, since within the established procedure 100 iterations were generated for this percentage, which allowed observing and analyzing the behavior of the mismatch. for the portfolio of selected assets and liabilities. Additionally, the return and risk of the portfolio were taken into account as KPIs to select the methodology that best behaves with the problem under study. Finally, the methodology that best behaves with the mentioned context was immunization by duration.
