Abstract: The results of this study provide an inventory of the sources of supply, both superficial and underground, of the aqueduct systems of the municipal headwaters of Colombia, based on the information reported by the providers of the aqueduct service in the Unified Information System, SUI, in charge of the Superintendency of Public Utilities, Superservicios. [1] For this purpose, 491 companies were present in 542 municipalities, which registered 1 sources in the SUI, of which 824 correspond to surface water sources and 176 to wells. It was found that in 101 surface water sources a flow is obtained that is higher than the average flow and that the flow of the wells in all the cases was lower than the design flow rate. At the same time, it was determined that in 241 surface water sources and in 8 wells, the volume collected exceeded the volume granted by the environmental authority.
