Abstract: This research focuses on developing a mathematical model that maximizes the profitability of a retailer through the simultaneous solution of problems of space allocation, assortment planning and gondola location for multiple items considering the effects of dynamic substitution between articles, impacts of space elasticity on demand, expected Service levels of the display and the Buyer decision tree. The problem is formulated as an MILP and solved using the Branch and Cut method through GAMS. Additionally, this is tested with current date of the UHT Milk Category for a retailer of the Supermarket Channel Retailer.
